Randy Abate lives and trains in Orlando, FL. He competes actively in road races ranging from the 5K to the marathon throughout the state. He is a Professor of Law at Florida A&M College of Law in Orlando, FL. He teaches and writes in the areas of climate change law and justice, ocean and coastal law, animal law, and constitutional law. He lives with his wife, Nigara. His son, Alek, recently graduated from Dartmouth College where we was a member of the school’s lightweight crew team. Alek is currently teaching English at an underserved middle school in Jacksonville, FL as a corps member in Teach for America while getting reacquainted with the Jacksonville distance running scene. His daughter, Tania, is a teacher and competitive tennis player in the Washington, DC area.
